Near the Famous Chain O’Lakes Region

Crooked Lake is a smaller, 137-acre lake to the east of the Chain O’Lakes region. It is located in Lake County, Illinois, and is considered a part of the Chicagoland tourist region. This lake is utilized by the surrounding communities of Lake Villa and Lindenhurst.

Crooked Lake is a natural glacial lake, fed by the Slough Lake creek. It has beautiful, wooded shorelines due to a smaller amount of residential development.

Fishing

There are no public boat launches on Crooked Lake, so access is more limited compared to some of the surrounding lakes. This means there is an abundance of yellow perch, bluegills, striped bass, and carp that will attract anglers from all experience levels. Residents with boat docks might have the upper hand!

The nearby communities offer their residents a host of amenities including, private beaches, boat storage, piers, tennis courts, playgrounds, nature preserves, and trails.

Swimming, boating, kayaking, and more water sports can also be enjoyed on Crooked Lake. This lake offers a more tranquil environment because of the low amount of lake traffic.

Nearby Crooked Lake is Sun Lake Forest Preserve, Hastings Lake Forest Preserve, Duck Farm Preserve, and McDonald Woods Forest Preserve. All five nature preserves have picturesque views of the glacial lakes and wetlands.
